Protecting and Expanding Medicaid

Unfortunately in Georgia, the state has yet again chosen to not expand Medicaid and is still pushing a means tested program that ensures a fraction of coverage that Medicaid would. Georgians need Medicaid expansion and I also support dropping the age for Medicare to 50 as a stop gap measure. Americans do not need to earn their healthcare and I will fight for this fundamental right.

Strengthening and protecting Democracy

We need to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to get dark money out of politics and make voting more accessible and fairer. The federal government can be a counterbalance to a state government that wants to limit access and make it harder for us to vote. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s lack of recognition of free and fair elections is unacceptable conspiracy nonsense and we must push back on it.

The Problem with Big Money in Politics

Special interests have run amok in Washington and aren’t helping us solve our biggest issues. Politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene have no issue taking money from bigots and extremists. I haven’t taken any money from Corporate PAC and I won’t in the future.

Reproductive Freedom

Abortion rights are healthcare. We shouldn’t have ignorant politicians putting barriers between women and their doctors. I support a federal law that would overturn state mandates on abortion like we have in Georgia.

Economic Opportunities

When we have a representative who isn’t distracted by scandals and conspiracy theories, we will be able to focus on bread and butter issues that matter to the district. My priority will be recruiting high quality jobs to the district and expanding access to educational opportunities so the citizens of District 14 can move up the economic ladder. As a small business owner myself, I know that government can need to create a more productive environment for small business, not just large corporations.

Big Pharma

We must fight for lower prescription drug prices, big pharma has increased the price of vital medications for our seniors beyond a price they can afford and we can’t stand for this any longer. Most western nations put limits on the price of pharmaceuticals and we need to follow their lead.

Public Safety

We should invest in safe gun storage grants to encourage safe gun storage and to keep guns out of the hands of children. I recognize the constitutional right to bear arms but we should encourage safe gun storage from minors and criminals.
